Helambu circuit isthe most convenient and closest short trek to Kathmandu. It is a relatively low altitude trek. The local inhabitants in Helambu are predominantly Tamang and Sherpa people inhabiting the higher villages, particularly Melamchi Gaon, Tarkeghyang and Sharmanthang. The high point of the trek is at Tharepati La Pass which is 3600 meters and can experience snow even during the main trekking seasons. There are many alternatives for trekking in Helambu but the circuit starting at Melamchi Pul and ending at Sundarijal takes in the best that the area has to offer.

Day 05:Kutumsang to Tharepati (3600m):
Day 06:Tharepati (3600m) - Tarke Gyang (2170m): To reach Tarke Gyang, you drop down to cross the Melamchi Khola just beyond the village of Malamchigaon (2560m) and then climb steadily. Tarke Gyang is the main village in Helambu and has a choice of accomodation.
Day 07:Tarke Gyang to Kiul (1280m): The easiest way is to take the path to Timbu and then follow the Melamchi Khola down to Kiul. Descend through rhododendron forest passing several shorten and many walls to kakani (2058m) andTimbu where the countryside is more
